Wednesday - March 25, 2009

Yay! My friend Andrew and his wife Erin had their second baby boy this morning at 8:30. Connor was born weighing 8 lbs. 8 oz. via scheduled c-section. I'm told Erin is doing really well. :) I am looking forward to being his god-mum!

While I was at my power lifting class (doing lunges WITH the weights this time, yeah!), Noah was practicing karate at school and earning a white belt:

We played with legos for a while - he wanted me to build a couple of his new ships for him. He LOVES the little lego Storm Troopers that go in them!

Once Allie was home from school the kids played in the back yard for a while:

and played some Mario Kart:

I found a really funny picture of Allie playing around last week:

Then my iPhone decided to shit the bed, so I had to dump everything off of it and restore it. Luckily, it worked. Pretty hairy for a while there - I was afraid I'd lose my contacts.

For dinner, we had a delicious salsa rice and beans that Tim cooked, then Tim played some Mario Kart with Allie before the kids went to bed. After that I did some catching up with friends, Jonathan included, who says he's shipping back out to either Iraq or Afghanistan sometime in June. Yes, for the THIRD time. While I did my talking, Tim helped Greg with a computer virus issue, then Tim and I fell unconscious. :)

Tuesday - March 24, 2009

A very laid-back day since we're still winding down from the busy weekend. I did some cleaning around the house while Noah checked out his new Mario Kart game on the wii:

and we planted some daffodils in the back yard:

I know they're going to die, but the bulbs will still be there next year. It was cold out so we didn't stay out long.

I forgot to post this earlier, but I did mention previously that my nephew Tyler was going to have his head shaved since he got into some trouble. Well, it turns out my sister didn't shave his head, just gave him a cut - so here is the the before and after:

He looks pretty miserable, so I'd say the punishment was (hopefully) still effective.

Put together some of Noah's new toys - a huge hot wheels track:

and a bubble rocket:

After dinner, my mother came by to watch the kids while Tim and I went to the gym for our cycling class. After we put the kids to bed we watched 24. Love that show!

Monday - March 23, 2009

Noah had school today and Alana had the day off due to a teacher in-service day. She used the computer for a while and played with legos. We picked Noah up from school and Allie got to play in the playground for a while too:

When we got home, the kids played with Noah's new paints:

and played with bubbles:

and played in the ash left over from the fire even though they know they're not supposed to:

(little punks.)

So they had their showers early:

Then we had a boiled dinner - a very late St. Paddy's celebration:

Good stuff. :)

Sunday - March 22, 2009

Today was spent doing a ton of leaf and brush burning. Tim did his sleeping in, and we all had a very leisurely morning. I opened up a few of Noah's birthday gifts for him and he and Alana played with them.

Started the burning at noon:

Noah wore his new hat all day:

Alana played "Parking Garage" with all of the power wheels vehicles:

Noah blew some bubbles with his new bubble wand:

Garry and Val stopped by since they were in the area looking at houses. They checked out our house (still can't believe they haven't been by before now!) and Garry picked up his computer that Tim has been working on for him. It was good to see them. :)

I did my live fantasy baseball draft at 8:30 with my friend Aaron. He's the league commissioner and I'm a huge newbie. I think I did pretty well in the draft though, thankfully having had Tim and Greg's help.

A very productive, yet leisurely day.

Saturday - March 21, 2009

Noah's birthday celebration day! I ran some last minute cake, ice, and ice cream picking up errands and also picked up Noah's printed portraits from the portrait studio. They came out great!

Arrived at the first party destination at 12:30 - a kids entertainment complex with jumpy houses and tunnels and an arcade. Most of Noah's pre-school class came, along with his cousins Michael, Caitlyn, and Siobhan. Noah got to spin a wheel to win a prize, and ended up with 100 extra tickets to add to his arcade winnings:

The kids filed off into the play area:

and had a great time playing:

My cousin Linda wore the had which we both happen to own:

Then Noah and the other kids cashed in their tickets and picked prizes:

Photobucket

and the kids posed for a photo on the stairs (we ended up with two slightly different groups of kids somehow):

Alana sat patiently while all of the younger kids got settled:

Everybody went upstairs to have some pizza:

then Noah got to put the number "5" on his cake:

Excuse my awful singing...

After getting all of the kids back off to home and dragging out TWO garbage bags full of gifts to be brought home, we headed back to our house to meet everyone else for the party at 4:00:

The kids played in the yard for a while:

Then it was cake time:

Rosa had a bit of extra fun with her cake:

Then Noah opened his gifts:

This one was saved to open with everything else - from Bop. The picture quality on this one is awful, but it's a handmade sweater and a notebook and other little goodies:

Noah had a great time! Thank you to everyone who came to his parties. :)

He fell asleep wearing the fisherman had Tim and I got for him...it was super cute.
